If you are traveling by train or bus or by road in India then you should be more careful as water consumers. You might be thirsty and buying packaged water bottles from the local shop. There are so many local brands that are using fake identities of most popular brands like Bisleri, Kinley to produce fake water bottles. 

Out of 1,442,695,866 Indian people 70% are living in rural areas. Not only those people, there are many educated people also consuming those fake bottled water unknowingly just by thinking that water is water when they are going outside or staying out of home. 

Local manufacturers have been producing fake mineral water bottles that look similar to well known marked brands to metro station sellers or local shop owners. 

Fake water bottle brand names:

Some of the fake brand names are: Bilseir, Bisferi, Bisllari, Beslare, Belsri, Brislei, Blissli, kidley and many more. 

The original brands are Bisleri (Bisleri International Pvt. Ltd), Aquafina (PepsiCo), and Kinley (The Coca-Cola Company).

The unlawful practice is predominant across rail lines and metro stations and bus stands, where clueless voyagers in their rush purchase counterfeit items, which use brand names and plans like famous brands. The road shrewd agents use names that intently look like those of laid out brands. 

Not only water bottles but also some fake drinks are on sale in local shops or hockers are selling in trains. Creators/local owners of such fake/counterfeit  products use transport stands and other well known spots to promote counterfeit items. Clients ought to be cautious about such fake items.

What should you do as a water consumer?

To stay away from tainted water, kindly twofold check all water bottles you purchase. Or on the other hand even better, purchase a reusable restrain and fill it straightforwardly from any water channel at your lodging.

Now if you are really traveling anywhere out of home then try to carry a small reusable water bottle or collapsible/foldable water bottle if you have space problems cause you can keep them even in your pocket or purse. 

Still if you really need to drink water outside there then please be more careful before consuming water check everything otherwise you may be admitted in hospital. Like that recent case – 

A man’s health deteriorated immediately after consuming water from a packaged and sealed water bottle labelled ‘Bisilleri’ in Gwalior. The victim was in critical condition and admitted to the ICU.

According to reports, Nadeem Khan, a resident of Aapaganj in Gwalior, felt thirsty and purchased bottled water from Sheetla Dairy. As soon as he drank from the bottle, he experienced severe health issues and had to be rushed to the hospital. His relatives admitted him to Jayarogya Hospital in Gwalior, where he received treatment in the ICU and was reported to be in critical condition.

Why are local sellers selling those types of face mineral water bottles?

When local sellers are selling original branded mineral water bottles then they are getting very less commissions on that. And when they are selling those fake local fake water bottles then they are getting much more commissions that’s why they are selling those without knowing the consequences. They could be arrested due to those unhealthy business practices!

Foreigners beware to buy fake mineral water bottles in India

Fake water is a thing you really want to keep away from while going to India!

Smugglers somewhat change a real water brand to trick you, and the storekeepers sell it since they procure additional benefit from this less expensive item.

A traveller Karl Rock says  “ I Bought 3 fake bottles of mineral water on a 4-hour road trip from Haryana to my Wife‘s Mother’s village in Rajasthan, and I could not find a real bottle on that trip!’’
